Hudson Valley Community College football has taken a major step forward with the signing of 31 new student-athletes to its program. This year's signing class is the largest during Coach Jones' six years as head coach and represents a significant influx of talent from across the Northeast and beyond.
The Vikings are coming off an impressive 8-2 season in which they captured the Region 3 Championship, further solidifying their status as a powerhouse program.
Head Coach Don Jones expressed his enthusiasm about this historic class, stating: "We are excited to welcome 31 new members to Hudson Valley Community College's football program. This is the largest class we have signed. We have endeavored to reload at critical positions and firm up other positions. We have signed students from New York, New Jersey, Maine, Alabama, Maryland, New Hampshire, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. It is our hope that this class lives up to the standards both on and off the field and become better young men when they leave the HVCC football program."
Athletic Director Justin Hoyt also praised the recruiting efforts and the incoming class, stating: "Coach Jones and his staff have put together a strong recruiting class, and we are excited to welcome this incoming class of talented freshmen from across the nation."
HVCC's coaching staff worked tirelessly to identify and recruit talent that will not only contribute to the team's success on the field but also uphold the program's values of hard work, dedication, and character development. This class features a strong mix of offensive and defensive playmakers, including quarterbacks, linemen, skill position players, and defensive standouts.
With student-athletes hailing from multiple different states, the Vikings are set to bring a diverse and dynamic approach to their game. The program's commitment to building a strong foundation is evident, as this recruiting class addresses key positional needs while also adding depth to the roster.
As the newest Vikings prepare for their next step, the coaching staff is eager to develop this talent and integrate them into the program's culture of excellence. Expectations are high, and HVCC football looks forward to seeing these student-athletes on the field.
The upcoming season promises to be an exciting one, and with this influx of talent, HVCC football is poised to make a significant impact.
