Hudson Valley Announces October Athletes of the Month: Emily Coffey and Michael Kleinman
Hudson Valley Community College has named Emily Coffey of women's volleyball and Michael Kleinman of men's cross country as its October Athletes of the Month, recognizing their outstanding performances both on the field of play and in the classroom.
Coffey, a sophomore libero from Castleton-on-Hudson and a Criminal Justice major, has been a defensive anchor for the Vikings throughout the fall season. Her consistency, leadership, and energy helped guide Hudson Valley to its first-ever Region 3 Championship. Known for her relentless hustle and court awareness, Coffey played a key role in keeping rallies alive and setting the tone for the Vikings' record-breaking campaign. Off the court, she continues to excel academically, embodying the balance and dedication expected of a Hudson Valley student-athlete.
Kleinman, a sophomore from Northport, N.Y., and an Individual Studies major, has been a top performer and leader for the men's cross country team this season. His strong finishes and competitive drive helped pace the Vikings through the regional competition circuit, consistently placing among the team's top runners. Kleinman's commitment to training, teamwork, and academics makes him a standout example of what it means to represent Hudson Valley both athletically and scholastically.
Both Coffey and Kleinman exemplify the values of hard work, leadership, and academic excellence that define Hudson Valley Athletics.
