ValleyBoys Roll Past Fulton-Montgomery, Set to Host Regional Playoff Series

The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team delivered a dominant performance on Tuesday, defeating Fulton-Montgomery 19-4 on the road. With the victory, the Vikings now turn their attention to the postseason, as they prepare to host #4 Finger Lakes Community College in a Region 3 playoff matchup this Saturday.
Hudson Valley wasted no time setting the tone, opening the scoring in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Robert Melo. The offense erupted in the second inning, plating eight runs on a flurry of timely hits, including doubles from Michael Poltar, Josh Ortiz, and Red Maron, along with key contributions from Logan Norman, Nico DeSanto, and Triston Santos.
The Vikings continued to pour it on in the third inning, adding five more runs highlighted by a two-run home run from Chase Morrison, who also showcased exceptional discipline at the plate with three walks on the day.
On the mound, Connor Trudeau earned the win, tossing three innings while allowing just two runs and striking out four. Gebron Brunson and Philip Parisi provided relief to secure the victory.
Hudson Valley totaled 16 hits in the game, with Santos and DeSanto leading the way with three hits apiece and three RBIs each. Poltar, Norman, and Maron also recorded multiple hits in the balanced offensive effort. The Vikings demonstrated patience and aggressiveness throughout, drawing nine walks and swiping nine bases.
Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was canceled due to weather.
With the regular season complete, Hudson Valley now shifts its focus to the postseason. The Vikings will host #4 Finger Lakes Community College in the opening round of the Region III playoffs on Saturday, May 9, with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 PM, followed by game two at 2:00 PM.
