The Hudson Valley Community College football team dropped a 38-10 decision to Louisburg College on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings struck first with a 47-yard field goal from Jared Navidad in the opening quarter, but the Hurricanes responded with consecutive touchdown passes to take an early lead.
Hudson Valley's offense found the end zone in the third quarter when quarterback Nathan Stone connected with Damien Santiago for a touchdown. Santiago finished the day with four receptions for 32 yards, while Stone threw for 91 yards and a score. Overall, the Vikings totaled 149 yards of offense, including 58 rushing yards.
Defensively, Hudson Valley worked to contain a balanced Louisburg attack, but turnovers proved costly. The Hurricanes capitalized with both an interception return and a late fumble recovery returned for touchdowns to secure the win.
The Vikings will look to regroup and bounce back in their next matchup for Homecoming Weekend against rival Nassau at 1pm on Saturday.
