Navidad Named Semifinalist for Fred Mitchell Award

Hudson Valley Community College freshman kicker Jared Navidad has been named one of just 41 national semifinalists for the prestigious 2025 Fred Mitchell Award, recognizing the top non-FBS placekickers in the country for excellence both on the field and in community service.

Navidad delivered an outstanding rookie campaign for the Vikings, showcasing elite range and consistency. He finished the regular season 14-for-19 on field goals (74%), including an impressive five makes from 40–49 yards and a perfect 1-for-1 from 50+, with his season-long coming from 53 yards. Inside 30 yards, he remained dependable, going 5-for-7 from 20–29 yards and a flawless 4-for-4 from 30–39 yards.

Navidad's selection places him among a premier group of kickers across the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, and other non-FBS programs nationwide. The award's namesake, longtime Chicago Tribune columnist and record-setting college kicker Fred Mitchell, praised the remarkable depth of this year's field in both performance and community impact.

The Top 10 finalists will be announced in the coming weeks, with the 2025 Fred Mitchell Award winner revealed on December 5th.
