The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team dropped a home contest to North Country Community College on Wednesday night, falling 73–60. The Vikings now stand at 6–9 overall and 2–3 in conference play.
Hudson Valley stayed competitive early, trailing 38–34 at halftime after a closely contested first half. North Country, which entered the game with a 12–1 record, extended its lead in the second half and held the Vikings to 26 points after the break to secure the road win.
Julius Reed led Hudson Valley with 21 points, while Kemontae Thawe provided a strong effort off the bench with 17 points. Marcus Steele and Jacob Baccaro each added six points, and Ian Fisher-Layton and Jose Munoz-Pastrana contributed three points apiece.
The Vikings will look to bounce back when they return to action at home on Saturday, January 17, hosting Jefferson. Tip-off is scheduled for 1pm.
