The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball team fell to Fulton-Montgomery Community College, 84–52, in a home contest on Wednesday evening. The Vikings move to 8-10 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
Hudson Valley kept the game close early, trailing 34–29 at halftime, but Fulton-Montgomery used a strong second half to pull away, outscoring the Vikings 50–23 over the final 20 minutes. Julius Reed led the Vikings offensively, finishing with a game-high 27 points while knocking down five three-pointers. Jacob Baccaro added 18 points and seven rebounds, and Marcus Steele contributed eight rebounds off the bench.
Despite forcing 19 turnovers and collecting 14 steals, Hudson Valley struggled from the field, shooting 27.0 percent overall and 26.1 percent from three-point range.
The Vikings will look to bounce back on the road when they travel to SUNY Adirondack on Wednesday, January 28, for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
