Vikings Capture Conference Titles, Shine at Regionals
Hudson Valley Community College Bowling capped a dominant season with conference championships, major individual honors, and a standout showing at Regionals, further cementing the Vikings' place among the region's elite programs.
Hudson Valley claimed both the men's and women's conference championships, with head coach Chris Claus earning Coach of the Year honors for both divisions. The recognition highlights a season defined by depth, consistency, and championship-level performances across the board.
On the men's side, freshman Aaron Mantello was named Conference Player of the Year after leading the Vikings to their sixth straight conference title. Mantello also earned First Team All-Conference honors alongside senior Aidan Rutski, while seniors Thomas Quinn and Salvatore Iavarone were named Second Team All-Conference selections.
The Vikings carried that momentum into Regionals, battling through eight traditional games and six baker games to finish runner-up behind Erie Community College. Mantello and Quinn once again led the charge, with both earning All-Region recognition. Quinn placed fourth overall, while Mantello finished as the regional runner-up, highlighting a strong postseason performance for the men's squad.
The women's program delivered a historic conference season, finishing a perfect 16-0 en route to back-to-back championships. Senior Jennifer Doty was named Conference Player of the Year, leading a balanced lineup that featured All-Conference selections Alexis Gaudette, Laney Brown, and Lillie Garneau.
At Regionals, the Vikings elevated their performance even further, capturing the team title ahead of Erie Community College. Doty and Brown claimed the doubles championship, and Doty secured the singles title with an impressive 262–929 series and a 207 average on the day. The women were heavily represented on the All-Region Team, with Alyssa Gray finishing sixth, Gaudette fourth, Brown third, and Doty earning first overall honors.
From conference dominance to regional success, the Vikings showcased resilience, leadership, and championship culture throughout the postseason. The Vikings will look to carry their momentum into one final tune-up this Sunday at the Walter J. Hauck Memorial Tournament before turning their focus to the national stage. Hudson Valley will compete at the NJCAA National Championships March 5–7, aiming to build on a season already defined by conference titles, regional success, and individual accolades.
