The Hudson Valley Community College men's golf team opened its 2026 spring season with an impressive pair of performances, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Tompkins Cortland Invitational and a third-place showing at the Onondaga Invitational.
At the Tompkins Cortland Invitational, held at Elm Tree Golf Course in Cortland, the Vikings turned in a team score of 312, finishing just one stroke behind first-place Niagara (311) in a tightly contested field.
Hudson Valley was paced by standout rounds from Tommy Wall and Nick Walsh, who each carded a 76 to tie for third overall. Their efforts placed both golfers among the top five individual finishers on the day. Stephen Jordan followed with a 79, while Logan Gilbo (81) and Will Jennings (82) rounded out the team scoring. Ryan Walch added a 93.
The Vikings carried that momentum into the Onondaga Invitational at Sunset Ridge Golf Club in Marcellus, where they secured a third-place finish with a team score of 338 against another competitive field.
Nick Walsh once again led Hudson Valley, finishing tied for ninth overall with an 81. Stephen Jordan posted an 85, followed closely by Tommy Wall with an 85. Will Jennings contributed an 87, while Ryan Walch and Logan Gilbo each recorded rounds of 91.
The Vikings will look to continue their strong start as they host the Hudson Valley Invitational on Friday, April 17 at Normanside Country Club.
