The Hudson Valley Community College hockey team (5-9-1) beat Erie Community College (13-3-1) 3-1 on Sunday evening.
After a scoreless first period, Troy Bennett (Mohonasen/Rotterdam) scored the lone goal for the Vikings in the second. During the third Kyle Constanty (Beekmantown/Plattsburgh) scored twice and received one assist from Jordan Smith (Oakwood/Van Wert, OH).
The men will finish out the two-game series against Erie on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
