The Hudson Valley Community College men's lacrosse team closed out the regular season on Wednesday evening with a 17-5 loss on the road at Herkimer College.
Hudson Valley's offense was led by Cole Vumbaco, Josh Whitmore, Romeyn Murray, Kitson Stover, and Travis Yurschak, who each recorded a goal in the contest. Herkimer used a strong offensive performance to pull away and secure the victory, holding the Vikings to five goals on the night.
The Vikings totaled 31 shots and controlled 39 ground balls. Travis Yurschak led the way with 10 ground balls, while Bryson Grimes added seven. Whitmore and Jason Herrick each collected four, and Vumbaco, Murray, and Zachary Rogers contributed three apiece.
In net, Hudson Valley combined for 31 saves, with Brayden Cooper stopping 22 shots in 45 minutes of action. Kevin Nicoll and Nicholas Lagitch also saw time in goal and combined for nine saves. Hudson Valley recorded 13 penalties in a physical matchup.
With the regular season complete, the Vikings now await Region III seeding for the NJCAA postseason.
