Axtmann Garners NJCAA National Player of the Week Honors

Hudson Valley's men's soccer student-athlete Garrett Axtmann (Castleton/Maple Hill) was named men's soccer NJCAA Division III Player of the Week Wednesday afternoon. Axtmann sweeps the weekly awards after being named Player of the Week by NJCAA Region III early in the day.

Axtmann leads the Vikings with eight points, all coming in the last two games last week as the Vikings have now won four straight games and have held opponents scoreless in the last 360-plus minutes. Axtmann recorded a hat trick in the Vikings 5-0 win over Adirondack and added another goal in the team's 4-0 win over Corning.

The men's soccer program has improved to 4-1 overall and has its toughest opponents coming up this week as they face-off against Mohawk Valley, Erie, No.5 Genesee and No.2 Herkimer.
