The Hudson Valley Community College men's soccer team came up short on Wednesday afternoon, falling 7-2 to Fulton-Montgomery Community College at the HVCC Soccer Field. With the result, the Vikings move to 4-4 overall on the season.
Fulton-Montgomery built an early advantage with two first-half goals and extended its lead to 4-0 early in the second half. Hudson Valley battled back with a pair of quick strikes — a penalty-kick goal from Camryn Curet in the 71st minute and a finish from Logan Healy, assisted by Michael Robyck, off a set piece in the 74th minute to cut the deficit to 4-2.
Despite the momentum shift, the Raiders closed the match strong with three unanswered goals to secure the 7-2 final.
Hudson Valley goalkeeper Juan Rivas faced heavy pressure throughout the contest, recording nine saves on 16 shots. The Vikings finished with six total shots and two corners.
The Vikings return to action on Wednesday, October 1, when they host North Country Community College at 2 p.m. at the OAC.
