Vikings Shine at Meet with National Qualifiers and School Record Performance

The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's track & field teams turned in a strong all-around performance, highlighted by national qualifying marks, event victories, and a new school record.
The men's 4x400-meter relay "A" team of Rushford, Oliva, Petrie, and Porter delivered the headline moment of the meet, winning first place with a time of 3:30.14 to earn a national qualifying mark. The Vikings also saw gold in the field events as Makai Gordon captured first place in the high jump, clearing 1.90 meters.
Additional podium finishes on the men's side included JeanGardy Louis, who placed second in the triple jump (13.86m), and Tyler O'Donnell, who earned second in the pole vault (4.25m). Alan Arnold continued a strong season with a ninth-place finish in the mile run (4:30.84), also meeting the national qualifying standard. In the throws, Andrew Long posted a pair of strong efforts with fifth-place finishes in both the shot put (12.88m) and weight throw (13.73m).
On the women's side, Alana Dickson delivered a historic performance, setting a new school record in the 200 meters with a time of 26.60, placing 20th overall in a competitive field. The Vikings also picked up solid results in the field events, as Makayla Kudlack finished eighth in the pole vault (2.20m), Noddy Udeh placed eighth in the triple jump (9.76m), and Megan May earned a 10th-place finish in the pole vault (2.05m). Alivia Cochran added an 11th-place finish in the shot put (9.15m).
