Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball closed out the weekend with two impressive victories, earning a road win at Tompkins Cortland on Saturday before returning home Sunday to defeat SUNY Broome inside McDonough Sports Complex.
Hudson Valley opened the weekend by grinding out a 58–52 win at Tompkins Cortland. The Vikings relied on balanced scoring and persistent rebounding to pull away in the fourth quarter. Myanna Faraj led HVCC with 19 points, including three makes from beyond the arc, while Alessia Salierno delivered 16 points and three steals in a full 40-minute performance. Lila Christensen owned the paint with a double-double, scoring 6 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Piper O'Hare added important minutes off the bench, contributing 6 points and 10 boards to help secure the win.
Returning home on Sunday, the Vikings took care of business with a 51–39 victory over SUNY Broome. Gracemary Baumann powered the offense with 15 points and 8 rebounds, showing strong presence around the rim. Faraj once again reached double figures, scoring 13 points while adding 4 steals to spark Hudson Valley's defensive pressure. Salierno knocked down three three-pointers and finished with 10 points, and Christensen turned in another efficient performance with 8 points and 3 rebounds.
Hudson Valley now turns its attention to the NECC Turkey Classic following the Thanksgiving break. The Vikings will take on Northern Essex Community College on Friday, November 28 at 2pm.
