Fitzmaurice Captures Title at South Jersey College Tennis Open

Hudson Valley Community College's Bryn Fitzmaurice delivered a dominant performance this weekend, claiming the championship at the South Jersey College Tennis Open and showcasing her strength as the Vikings' top singles player.

Competing as HVCC's No. 1, Fitzmaurice battled through a competitive bracket featuring top players from across the region. She opened the tournament with a 5-2 victory over Ocean County College's No. 1 player, Ava, setting the tone for the rest of her run.

Fitzmaurice continued her strong play in the next round, cruising to a 6-0 win over Camden County College's top player, Madison. In the semifinals, she maintained her momentum with a 6-1 victory against Jenna of Rowan College of South Jersey.

In the championship match, Fitzmaurice faced her toughest test against Dividi from Rowan University, a four-year program. Rising to the occasion, she delivered another commanding performance, earning a 6-1 victory to secure the tournament title.

The Vikings head to Mohawk Valley for a conference match on April 16th at 4pm.
