The nationally ranked Hudson Valley Community College women's cross country team has been recognized among the best in the country, coming in at No. 8 in the Week 1 NJCAA Division III Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll, released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Vikings earned the ranking on the heels of a strong start to the 2025 season, highlighted by a fourth-place team finish at the Fred Pavlich Invitational. Hudson Valley's top five combined for a time of 2:29:02, averaging 29:48 per runner with just over a four-minute spread.
Athena Seebald led the Vikings with a top-10 individual finish in 27:29.4, while Brianna Doria placed 15th in 28:17.0. Paulina Ostrander added a 27th-place showing in 30:21.5, and the scoring pack was rounded out by Alana Dickson (31:22.5) and Talia Moore (31:32.0). Rebecca Church (31:52.7) and Emily Wilson (32:27.3) provided valuable depth in a balanced team effort.
With Seebald and Doria anchoring the front of the lineup and a tight cluster of runners behind them, Hudson Valley has shown why it is considered one of the top programs in the country. The Vikings will look to build on their momentum as the season continues.
